The course is divided into six weeks. There is also an additional full-time week to work on your project during the workshop week. Matti will be available for tutoring that entire week as part of the Open Workshop course.
- The first week introduces you to the wonderful world of electronics and the basics of working with Arduino microcontrollers
- The second week focuses on all types of sensors and ways to map the data you receive from them
- The third week is about motors, actuators, and colorful lights. We will also built a simple robot car.
- The fourth week introduces you to different ways of communicating between the Arduino and a computer (or other devices).
- The fifth week is about different levels of prototyping your projects and also about working on your projec
- The sixth week is reserved for tutoring on your project.
- The workshop week is also reserved for working on our project. Matti is available 9:15–17:00, use the time according to your own needs.
Each class will be divided roughly like this:

What’s in Your Kit?
You have a little box of goodies for the course. Here is a list of the important things that you should have.

Each day we will go through some specific components, I will try to always list the parts used for each day.

Each one of you has a designated workstation with a set of tools. For the duration of the course, this workstation is under your responsibility. Clean your station after you stop working each day:
- Make sure the tip of the soldering iron is clean and shiny
- Make sure all the tools are in the places where they belong
- Clean your desk from all wire clippings and other trash. Use the brush and shovel hanging on the tool wall.
Some of the workstations do not have all the tools as shown above. Take a picture of yours in the beginning of the course and make sure it looks the same on the last day. Each of them has at least:
